Senior Manager, Employee Relations, Remote

We are actively recruiting for a Senior Manager, Employee Relations to join the People Strategy & Operations Team to ensure fair, equitable, and consistent treatment to all employees while creating an engaged and safe work environment. The Senior Manager, Employee Relations collaborates with the HR Business Partners to advise leaders on matters of performance, conflict, conduct, and discipline. This integral position will help drive an integrated employee relations (ER) and HR Compliance strategy that aligns with Aledade’s mission and overall business strategy.

This is a full-time role reporting to the Director, People Business Partner based out of our Bethesda, MD office with the flexibility of working from home.

Employee Relations Responsibilties Include:

  • Provides employee relations support to key internal stakeholders including, People Business Partners, Aledade’s Legal & Compliance Team, Team Managers and other business leaders for all employee related issues including, but not limited to: performance management and separation, harassment & discrimination, leave accommodation requests;
  • Works in close partnership with the Legal team to ensure the right balance of risk mitigation, engagement, and fairness is delivered;
  • Works in close partnership with managers on performance management including drafting performance improvement plans, written notices to employees, employee termination conversations, etc.;
  • Oversees, conducts and leads complex investigations related to allegations of harassment, discrimination, wage & hour and policy violations;
  • Drives cultural adoption of employee relations models and skills through communication and training for managers and employees; develops and leads training for managers on performance management best practices;
  • Stays updated on recent laws on relevant employment related laws including state requirements impacting employees (minimum wage, salary posting requirement, final pay requirements, etc.);
  • Manages incoming compliance hotline questions/complaints that are escalated to the People team, following through to resolution;
  • Tracks relevant employee data, metrics & trends to help inform process improvements and approaches.

HR Compliance Responsibilities Include:

  • Partners on the establishment of an effective HR Compliance Program, including identifying potential areas of HR compliance vulnerability and risk and proposing, implementing and providing oversight for all remediation efforts;
  • Partners with Aledade’s Compliance team on certification management, HIPAA violations, and audit requests;
  • Manages HR compliance audits, addressing compliance opportunities, issues, and gaps;
  • Establishes and maintains an audit calendar to proactively be prepared for regularly occurring audits and manages all People team responses to audit requests;
  • Oversees the EEO/AAP process, including the formulation of proposed actions based on plan results;
  • Manages Harassment & Discrimination employee and manager training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience);
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in employee relations, HR Business Partner, or labor/employment law;
  • Highly skilled in workplace investigations, negotiation, and conflict management;
  • Deep understanding of US employment law, EEO regulations, workplace anti-discrimination and accommodations related laws, including Title VII, the ADA, the FMLA and their state law equivalents;
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion;
  • Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.

All prospective hires will be required to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated, including booster shots, against COVID-19 with a COVID-19 vaccine for which the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a license or an Emergency Use Authorization prior to mutually-agreed upon start date at Aledade, unless they qualify for a medical or religious accommodation to this vaccination requirement. In certain limited circumstances, Aledade will accept documented proof of prior infection with COVID-19 in lieu of a booster shot.
