Job Description

ABOUT US

Sorted is a refreshingly agile and data-driven software company, powering dynamic checkouts, carrier management, delivery tracking and automating returns management around the world. Through partnerships with some of the biggest global carriers and customer-obsessed retailers, Sorted transforms every delivery journey into a 5* customer experience.

Trusted by leading global retailers – such as ASOS, Asda and Lush – Sorted’s delivery experience platform fixes poor delivery choice, broken customer promises and disjointed post-purchase communication to increase customer happiness, drive loyalty and support retail growth.

With software now live in 17 countries, Sorted is recognised as one of fastest growing companies in Europe as named by the FT and one of the UK’s most successful digital businesses by Tech Nation’s Future Fifty, Europe’s leading late-stage growth programme. And, this year, we’re proud to have been recognised as one of the top ten most innovative retail technologies in BusinessCloud’s 2022 RetailTech 50 ranking. No one likes a show off, but we can’t not shout about that one.

We have ambitious plans, but a brilliant team of over 100 talented people. And we’re just getting started.

Our values guide our decisions, the way we work, our culture and the people we ask to join the team. We work hard, have fun and are united as a team when it comes to driving transformation forward – not just for our business, but transformation for the retail tech industry. We’re not afraid to make mistakes (we’d never learn if we didn’t) and we’re always looking to challenge ourselves. Our style is collaboration based on honesty, transparency and looking forward.

We’re working hard to make Sorted great; we know the roller coaster will continue but, with great people and an exciting roadmap in place, now is the time to be part of our story.

If you’re inspired by what we’re doing, are up for a challenge and share our vision, we’d love to hear from you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

With big plans, we’re on the hunt for a Business Analyst.

Working in the Product Team, you will be part of a cross functional team responsible for facilitating the build and delivery of successful software by ensuring an appropriate quality of software requirements are defined and understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will develop a passion and understanding of our business and product domain, with a keen insight in what fits our strategy for success.

You should thrive on immersing yourself into multi-disciplinary detail, and translating your findings into simple to understand stories (with accompanying acceptance criteria) for the team. We’re also looking for somebody who can also challenge us how we can improve our current processes whist executing our product roadmap.

The day to day stuff:

No two days are ever the same at Sorted, and your role will be varied and diverse. The pace we move at also means priorities will change, so you’ll need to be comfortable with multitasking and shifting workloads. But when plans shift around, we work together to ensure you have fully support and clarity on expectations and deadlines.

Here are some of the things that will be core to your role.

  • Helping support and lead requirements gathering from key stakeholders alongside the Product Owner(s) for the product(s) discovery and ideation phases
  • Requirement elaboration and refinement – working alongside engineers and testers in a “3-amigo” style to ready these requirements for development, implementation and configuration.
  • Prioritising and breaking down requirements in relation to sprint plans and product roadmaps.
  • Documenting key process flows required for customer and/or carrier use of the product(s) – identifying and flagging any opportunities for improvement.
  • Mapping required metadata to key API requests and responses – understanding the flow of the metadata through the functions and feature set.
  • Writing release notes and supporting technical documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the trainer in developing and delivering training to customers on the use of these product(s).
  • Furthering the analysis of support tickets following initial triage and refining for resolution.
  • Promote, demonstrate and share knowledge on business analysis best practise with peers

Requirements

ABOUT YOU:

You should apply if:

  • Working on complex software products (API and SaaS focussed)
  • Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints
  • Championing the product vision, ensure everyone is on board & it is broken down to achievable milestones.
  • Breaking down requirements from epics into user stories for the development teams to deliver.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Partnering with engineering teams to ensure we deliver with speed and quality – both in house and offshore teams.
  • The appetite to share your skills and experience within our Community of Practice.
  • Engaging and leveraging supplier/3rd party relationships
  • Ensuring the product backlog is prioritised and the development teams are able to successfully deliver new features
  • Utilising data and market insights to inform decisions and direction.

And it would be super great if:

  • you know what it’s like to work in a scale up company and love the vibe (and sometimes chaos!)
