The Manager, Finance – Meals and Sides has full responsibility and accountability for the overall financial health of our Meals and Sides business unit including financial reporting and analysis, preparation of annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly variance analysis to plan, forecast and prior year, and top to bottom profitability reporting by SKU by Customer. The Finance Manager will work on a broad range of assignments including, but not limited to, pricing, promotional trade analysis, consumer marketing, pricing studies for new customers and products, branded and private label analysis, corporate month end reporting and presentations to Board and senior management in a cross-functional and collaborative environment. Additional responsibilities include partnering with the Sales, Marketing, Trade Management and Supply Chain teams to focus on driving overall business performance through sales forecasting and variance analysis, trade planning and control,

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Financial lead for annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year strategic planning processes
  • Prepare, maintain, and improve financial models and reporting tools
  • Communicate financial results, challenges and opportunities to senior management
  • Build, consolidate and analyze all financial reporting documents in both Power BI and Excel
  • Organize and assist with presentations for senior management and Board of Directors
  • Provide financial analysis to management, measuring performance and KPIs versus plan and prior year
  • Coordinate and support the monthly close process by preparing month end reporting data and variance analysis
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing and Trade Management teams to focus on driving overall business unit performance through pricing actions when necessary and ongoing trade and consumer marketing efficiency programs
  • Complete trade assessment on promotional ROI, optimization, profitability, and strategy as an integral part of the trade planning and control process
  • Collaborate with Plant Operations and Co-manufacturing teams on understanding input and conversion costs and variances to standard overhead
  • Develop deep understanding of wheat commodity market in partnership with Procurement
  • Prepare pricing studies to support Sales and Marketing for new customer and products
  • Be the finance lead on innovation and renovation projects; collaborating with the cross functional teams to generate P&Ls to evaluate projects feasibility
  • Validate data from multiple sources and ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data being provided
  • Identify and drive process improvement through standard and ad hoc reporting
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with an emphasis in business, economics, finance or accounting
  • 5-7 years of financial analysis, product line and portfolio management or related CPG Food experience in a finance management level role is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (spreadsheets, database management, and presentations)
  • Ability to work well in ERP systems and data mining to support proper pricing and invoicing
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills – must be able to structure the problem, collect data and present results – preferably experience in business intelligence software such as Microsoft’s Power BI
