Zendesk is looking for a hard-working Software Engineering Intern to join us for a 12 months internship, with a view to become a full-time employee after the internship. We’d like to speak to the individuals who are available for at least 24 hours per week.

The Search team in Krakow is currently focusing on large scale datastores software creation and optimizations. Our mission is to build the best customer experience based on Search features in our product.

We are passionate about technology and making phenomenal products. Therefore, the technologies we use are carefully chosen to make sure we maintain high standards in order to provide our customers a reliable product based on them. However, we understand that it is imperative for a growing engineer to be able to work with different technologies applied to tackle the real challenges. No worries, we have it covered for you. We work with Java and Ruby, host everything on AWS, vastly investing in observability and debuggability, using Datadog APM and Cloudwatch to stay on top of what is going on in our infrastructure.

Joining our team you would be focusing on the search capability for Zendesk Sell. This will include developing ElasticSearch based search platform, building automations and tools to improve reliability and lower costs of infrastructure and maintenance. We will work together to make sure you have great learning opportunities in areas you are passionate about.

What will be required from you?

  • Being passionate about software engineering and building reliable products
  • Being familiar with at least one programming language (preferably Java or Ruby)
  • Being familiar with basic code design patterns and software development principles
  • Huge plus: solid understanding of Docker, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes
  • Sufficient English skills to be able to structure your thoughts and express them clearly verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for an Intern Software Engineer with a passion and familiarity with at least one programming language who is interested in growing in the Search software development area. This Engineer will have an opportunity to learn while helping with our new Search platform creation.
