Expert Network Engineer

Job Description

The Expert Network Engineer is accountable for the design and implementation of our data center network and security infrastructure. You will be developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions to include network, load balancing, security infrastructure, private cloud, and public cloud integration. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, reporting directly to the Engineering Director.

*This job can be homebased almost anywhere in the U.S.

What you will do:

• Capture requirements and prepare a network security solution based on detailed and agreed upon standards. This solution could involve network, load balancing, firewall or any other type of infrastructure supported by Network Services.
• Maintain appropriate documentation for infrastructure, solutions, and back-office record systems through the Build and As-Built processes.
• Provide technical support on highly visibility major/priority 1 incidents through conference calls and teamwork tools to resolve issues to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA) requirements. Level 2 support for the Network Operations team.
• Effective troubleshooting skills and the ability to use them in high stress situations. This includes use of packet captures and application data stream analysis.
• Ensure happiness from our Acxiom client account teams. We ensure network security solutions and projects are delivered on time and on budget.
• Regularly leads self and others as SME or specialist, sharing expertise through providing formal mentorship.
• Provide consultation about his/her area of expertise for cross-functional project or client team engagements.
• Effective ability to manage time, update tickets, forward look based on roadmaps and goal setting so that both short- and long-term goals are accomplished while maintaining effective work life balance.

What you will need:

• Bachelors Degree and 8 years of relevant work experience or 12 years of specific industry experience and professional level certifications
• In-depth knowledge of OSPF, BGP, MPLS-VPN, BGP-EVPN, VXLAN, ALB, GSLB
• Must have experience with virtualized environments using VMWare NSX-T
• Network Routing and Switching with Cisco and/or Arista platforms
• Experience with Firewall Technologies using Palo Alto or Fortinet
• Demonstrable experience working in moderate or large-scale environments

  • Networking Certifications: Cisco CCIE/CCDE, VMWare VCAP-NV/VCDX-NV
  • Security Certifications: Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE5-NSE8, CISSP
  • AWS / GCP Certifications, Bonus for AWS Network Specialization
• Arista DMF (BigSwitch) Experience
• Python, Ansible, or Terraform
• ITIL Certification
