Ginkgo’s Business Operations (Biz Ops) team is the primary cross-functional team at Ginkgo, using tradecraft from consulting, finance, and investing to work on the most challenging problems in the business. Primarily focused on solving problems around scaling Ginkgo’s operations, Biz Ops acts as the analytical and strategic arms and legs of the business. Our team bridges decision support and long-term planning for Ginkgo leadership with data insights and special projects for business partners both technical and commercial. The Biz Ops Associate* will be responsible for building infrastructure, executing analysis, and leading special projects that align with these goals.

Responsibilities

  • Deep thinking on scaling: Help define the path, build decision frameworks, and lead special projects for scaling Ginkgo’s mission
  • Cross-functional partnering:  Arm business partners across all parts of Ginkgo with analysis and data to ensure alignment across the organization and balance between short- and long-term goals
  • Model:  Own long-term operational and financial modeling for certain business areas, and Ginkgo as a whole, by incorporating a deep understanding of business drivers
  • Special projects:  Assist with evaluating and navigating key initiatives, business models, risks, and opportunities as they arise across Ginkgo’s technical, commercial, capital planning, and corporate development teams

Desired Experience & Capabilities

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a degree in a related field
  • Masters or MBA are preferred
  • 1-4 years of relevant financial, management consulting, and/or investing experience, particularly within a high-growth environment
  • Strong level of proficiency with operational / financial modeling, data analysis; experience with strategic planning
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional projects to completion
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to efficiently organize information, analyze large datasets, and present data in a clear and high impact manner
  • High-level ability to build strong relationships and influence technical, business, and operational decisions
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to work on multiple, concurrent projects and adapt to changing priorities
