Job Description

Mattermost is seeking a passionate data enthusiast to lead our Marketing data analytics. As a data-driven organization, Mattermost relies on our data team to drive marketing insights, ensure accurate data across systems, iterate on current key business metrics, and dive into complex datasets to answer business-critical questions.
In this role, you will work closely with the marketing, sales, product, and engineering organizations to deeply understand customer trends, analyze marketing activities, product adoption, and sales results in order to surface insights that impact the health of the overall business. If you are data-obsessed, love connecting the dots, thrive in an iterative environment, and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with data, this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing team to quantitatively understand problems and potential solutions; analyze disparate data sets in creative ways to generate new understandings of our business.
  • Maintain and enhance analytics infrastructure including data models and visualization tools at Mattermost in cooperation with analysts across the organization.
  • Analyze the performance of campaign launches and experiments using analytics tools, data platforms, and internal databases.
  • Ensure the highest levels of data quality, organization, and reliability.
  • Examine funnel performance, identify issues before they become problems, and suggest solutions.
  • Use historical data to forecast future performance in real time.
  • Surface analytical insights: proactively investigate root causes of aberrant data, and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Support design and implementation of experimentation necessary to improve channel efficiency, drive growth, and inform marketing investment decisions.
  • Build and maintain dashboards that will capture the Marketing team’s performance against our success metrics.
  • Participate in the definition and measurement of KPIs that will drive the company’s success.
  • Assist in training new hires and colleagues on the workings of Mattermost’s data and what it means to be a data-driven culture.
  • Lead strategic cross-functional data initiatives to stitch together Mattermost customer journey data for internal analytics consumption.
  • Partner with the Data Engineering team to ensure relevant data is centralized into our data warehouse and modeled for performant analytics, while meeting our high data-quality standards.
