As the Community Program Specialist, you will be an integral team member of the Global Events Team, supporting the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC), the world’s largest conference for women and non-binary technologists. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Events Content, the Community Program Specialist will support multiple programs for the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC). This role requires creativity, great communication skills, experience working with and in cross-functional teams, and the ability to be flexible and be proactive.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 – $65,025 plus competitive benefits to include 403(b). Job Responsibilities:

  • Codevelop strategy for and execute Special Programs for Global Events, including the Senior
  • Leadership Summit(SLS) and Open Source Day(OSD)
  • Manage and implement the Hopper Volunteer Program, ensuring volunteer needs for the Grace
  • Hopper Celebration and other AnitaB.org events are fulfilled
  • Collaborate with the Community Content Specialist to develop and execute Call for Volunteers application, including the development and execution of the Co-Chair application process
  • Design and manage the volunteer application process for Special Programs and the Hopper
  • Volunteer Program, outlining volunteer needs, roles, and responsibilities while ensuring equitable representation amongst all volunteers
  • Work with the customer service team to ensure consistent communication regarding SLS, OSD, and the Hopper programs
  • Manage SLS and OSD committees and volunteers
  • Serve as liaison to the Programs team at AnitaB.org for membership/community networking,
  • GHC Scholarships, and Abie Awards

  • Proficient written and oral communication skills in individual and small group settings. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external users at all levels
  • Familiarity with event technology and production tools.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com and Microsoft Office tools
  • Can adapt quickly to changing priorities. Can manage timelines, multiple tasks, and deadlines effectively
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, encouraging positive collaboration
  • Able to grasp all the moving parts of a project or program and communicate those moving parts effectively via presentations, meetings, phone calls, emails, and in person
  • Team player, able to receive direction, instruction, and constructive criticism
    Administrative sensibilities, able to track and analyze relevant event data
  • Demonstrated excellence in negotiation and relationship management
