Founding Software Engineer
About the role
We’re looking for experienced zero-to-one engineers. You embrace ambiguity and speed and are excited to roll up your sleeves and build across the full stack. As a founding engineer, you’ll play a major part in developing our engineering culture from the ground up and deciding what and how we build at Zest.
Our current stack includes Typescript, Next.js, and PostgreSQL, but we’re open to a wide range of experience.
Some examples of the types of work you’ll do
Architect and implement new experiences for our consumer-facing gifting product.
Create infrastructure and internal tooling to manage integrations with a variety of e-commerce platforms.
Responsibilities
Lead large projects from initial inception to production across the full stack.
Participate in roadmapping and architecture discussions.
Produce high-quality, production-ready, readable, maintainable code.
Unblock and support your team of peers including engineers, designers, product managers, and business operators.
Help assess and recruit future engineers.
You’ll be a good fit if you
Have at least 3-4 years of industry experience as a full-stack software engineer building and operating web applications in production.
Do your best work when you move quickly.
Prefer wearing many hats every day and being flexible.
Are driven to deliver delightful user experiences.
Love learning and picking up new things quickly.
Bonus points if you have
Experience in an early-stage startup environment.
Experience in e-commerce, specifically building apps for a variety of e-commerce platforms.
Experience as an engineering leader.
